Black & White Classic :: Fashion Inspiration {Style Board}

The classics are back. See how our studio stylist, Crystal brings this look together is a fresh way.
Fashion Inspiration - Style Board - Prom or Ball
We can’t go wrong with the classic black and white dress! The basic trend even allows you to throw in a punch of color. This look is fun, flirty, and fabulous. The short bouncy skirt, trendy accessories, and the added ribbon and lace gives it a familiar “Betsy Johnson” flavor. Always make sure the dress slims down your waist line and tastefully exposes the leg at an appropriate length. Go ahead and play it up with big rings, multiple bangles, and/or colorful clutches! But all of it together could be too much. Select your “out of the box” pieces wisely. After-all, we want to see your edgy style at its best!

Glamour Girl :: Fashion Inspiration {Style Board}

Looking for a bit of fashion inspiration for your prom or senior ball? Well our studio stylist, Crystal is here to help.  Check out today’s bright lights, big city glamour girl board.

Fashion Inspiration - Style Boards - Prom

Elegant from head to toe! Dance the night way under this year’s prom disco ball in something classic, solid, and beautiful. Every teenage girl loves to sparkle on the dance floor, so know your color palette. Choose a gown, which compliments your eyes, hair, skin tone, and curves. Accessorize with sparkle and shine, but keep it sweet and simple. Too much could be too tacky. Remember to grab a matching pair of heels comfortable enough to spend the evening “cutting a rug” to your favorite song and don’t forget to have fun!

Man, I wish I was a senior again!

I wish you were too. We’d have so much fun. But we could still do a killer portrait session, if you’re ever down in the bay area.

The Perfect ‘Mona Lisa’ Smile {Senior Portraits, Lafayette CA}

I tell people all the time to, “give me a Mona Lisa Smile”- It’s that ever so subtle, confident yet peaceful smile.  Well, our lovely Karen didn’t need to be told, she’s was a natural.  She reminded me of  Anne Hathaway,  but really is her own special self.  Karen goes to Bentley in Lafayette and swims with our very own Katie Rec.

It was a good thing that Karen loves water and was very willing to get a bit wet, as the forecast called for showers all day long. With the rain falling outside Lisa, Shelly and I started off in the studio hoping that after several outfit changes we may catch a break before heading out.  With plastic bags pulled over our cameras and hoods over our heads we wandered St. Mary’s grounds. Ironically, enough Lisa had picked some fun umbrellas from McCaulou’s a few days before. They turned out to be the perfect funcational prop. Karen’s last outfit for her amazing session was her plaid pink and black wellies that laced back the back and her prom dress paired with a pink umbrella. We found a grassy knoll on campus that gave us an English manor feeling and had Karen skip and twirl about.
